Some days the weather just isn’t on your side, but its not often that I’ve had a branding shoot in a snowstorm! Well that’s how last weeks shoot ended up but thankfully my client, Ali, was an absolute rockstar and totally made the best of it!
Ali, is the woman behind the fabulous brand Tutti Frutti, a made to order clothing company for children which focuses on ethical and sustainable fabric which is responsibly sourced. She uses playful vibrant designs that will really appeal to your little ones.
Although still a relavively young business, Tutti Frutti has already been awarded winner of Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday and a finalist in the Blue Patch Awards 2017! Quite an achievement!
Ali was kind enough to share a bit more of an insight into her business journey in my quick fire questions below.

1. How and why did you get started running your own business?
Tutti Frutti Clothing started in early 2016. I have sewn for many year (I was taught by my Mum!) and after making my own children’s clothing realised I was actually quite good at it! I didn’t want to go back to my 9-5 job as a PA in London and so threw myself into starting my own children’s clothing brand!
2. What does running your own business mean to you?
Flexibility - being able to do the school runs and being in control of my schedule!
I’m also really really proud of it!
3. What’s been your proudest moment in your business journey so far?
Winning Theo Paphitis #SBS and reaching the finals for Best New Business at the Blue Patch Awards last year.
4. Do you have any words or wisdom or advice you would give someone thinking of starting their own business?
Spend time doing your market research before you start – and don’t underestimate how long doing your accounts can take! And don’t undersell yourself either!
